Live Smart: A Life of Inner Guidance without Clutter

Posted by on May 1, 2012 in Articles, Blog, Conscious Creation, Conscious Living, Empowerment, Self Management, Self Mastery, Success | 0 comments

Are you ready to lead an extraordinary life? Author, entrepreneur and co-host of the Smart Women Talk Radio show, Victoria Trabosh, joins me on Power Your life Talk Radio  May 2, to speak about how you can.

Many of us rely on wisdom from external sources for direction and guidance. Yet, the wisdom that comes from inside of us is powerful and life directing. Wisdom also comes from the people in our lives who’ve shared their stories and memories and their trials to reach their dreams. Victoria’s first book, Dead Rita’s Wisdom, a memoir and tribute to her mother, reminds us of the wisdom that lies within us.

Extraordinary lives include the inner knowledge that enriches us, as well as clarity and direction. If your internal, office or home environments are cluttered, there’s unnecessary interference that detracts and distracts you from your purpose and your goals.

Sallie Felton, life coach, speaker, radio talk show host and deep imagery therapist, shares her private stories of her wins and struggles dealing with the 3 types of clutter in her book: If I’m So Smart Why Can’t I Get Rid of Clutter. Find out how you can rid yourself of clutter with Sallie and listen to the interview which originally aired May 2, 2012 on the Power Your Life Talk Radio Show with host Dr Jo Anne White.

Step into Self Mastery

Posted by on Apr 25, 2012 in Blog, Self Mastery | 0 comments

Are you the master of you? You are a creator supreme (even when you doubt it). And yet, what are you creating? Are your words, actions and values aligned?

You can maximize your creative potential by acknowledging and using your personal power.

Personal power is the ability to create what we desire. Our goals are achieved with our will and our willingness. We have influence in our world and with other people and in our actions. We know that our lives have purpose and we feel fulfilled.

It’s not always easy to remember to live from our highest self-vision, yet the closer we are to that vision, the closer we are to our birthright and our highest potential.

Step into your own Self Mastery with these 3 basic steps:

1.    Acceptance:

You accept personal responsibility for whatever you put out in the world. What is often the most difficult is the self-acceptance part. That’s acceptance of you no matter how far along you are on your journey and regardless of your past mistakes. If you’re like me, you’ve made many. We judge ourselves more fiercely than we judge others.

I always suggest to my business and personal coaching clients, that they look back on the mistakes of the past, only to forgive themselves. Practicing self-forgiveness lightens the heart and clears the way for new energy. And if you’ve learned something from them, that’s great too.

2.    Self-Control:

For many people self-control is an ugly concept. Think self-management instead. It’s essential to have in moving yourself forward no matter if it’s about staying fit, eliminating a destructive habit or launching a new career or a new business.

When we feel and are in control of our lives, we gain personal mastery over ourselves.  And it’s also about controlling the inner demons that interfere and try to limit our power.

3.    Integrity:

When you stay true to your principles and values, you’re in integrity with your highest truth. Our influence increases when we communicate sincerely and with integrity. People align with us because they value what we say and what we stand for.

Consider if you stand behind your own values. We represent our own truths through our personal expression that’s reflected in everything we do. What truth are you living today?

“One can have no smaller or greater mastery than mastery of oneself.”~ Leonardo da Vinci

Triumph Over Fear

Posted by on Feb 5, 2012 in Articles | 0 comments

Fear is defined as a distressing emotion. It’s aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc. It doesn’t matter if the threat to us is real or imagined; that feeling is real!

When those feelings are imagined, we stir them up with our thoughts. We can shift those thoughts and choose to focus on others, even conjure up pleasant memories to influence our emotions.

I’m not suggesting ignore your feelings. They are strong indices of how things are and how you are. Acknowledge them; pay attention to them and learn from them. Often, strong feelings can be predictors of what’s to come.

At the same time, we’re deluged by media and others’ views that influence us. We cannot act like a sieve. Rather, we are to be astute gardeners and weed.

However, when the threat is real, we need to act. We gather information, resources and keep up communications without fear blocking us from acting. We listen to the fear, become informed and take charge.

Fear Dissolving Tips:

  • Acknowledge the fear.
  • Identify what’s causing the fear.
  • Find out if it’s real or imagined.
  • If real, get information and weigh your options.
  • Act decisively. Take charge of your emotions and the situation at hand.

After you’ve become aware and identified the fear ask if it’s still controlling you.If your fear intensifies or is more imagined than true and gets in your way:

  1. Focus on more pleasant thoughts and images and intensify them.
  2. Breathe into the fear.
  3. Conjure up times in your mind when you acted courageously. You can even write them down or say them aloud to someone or even to a mirror.
  4. Talk it over with someone you trust.
  5. Realize that you can do whatever necessary, even when you feel fear in your gut, your throat, and your entire body or being. That’s what makes us heroes.

Consciously work with your own fears, conquer them one by one by just doing it anyway. Become a hero to yourself. Even heroes get help and seek out a professional coach, so if you want more support, get it.

Inner Peace Is Yours

Posted by on Feb 3, 2012 in Articles | 0 comments

I’ve been giving an old idea more space in my life and it’s very satisfying. I’ve invited calm in and made a comfortable place for her to reside.

In turn, she’s taught me to experience what it’s like to be truly centered and balanced. How empowering it feels to act and make decisions from this place.

Gift of Creativity:

I’m not suggesting I’ve attained perfect results; I’m human after all. Yet, there are rewards in viewing our lives in a less volatile manner, such as increased health and clarity.

From this calm comes the most exquisite creativity. When our minds are freed from the shackles of worry and reaction, bountiful creative ideas flow easily. Why not catch one.

Give Inner Peace A Chance:

In spite of what’s going on around you with loved ones, your jobs, the political climate or the economy, you too can create a place of quiet inside, that’s not affected by prevailing external conditions.

Inner calm and peace can be your constant companion through which you gauge the world.

Sound Bites:

There are many ways to reach that calm more efficiently. Music helps us relax and transcend our experiences. Turn on music, that vibratory wonder, to help tune your brain waves to calm.

Play music when possible to train your mind and body to become more comfortable with this state. The idea is to reproduce frequently and at will, this peaceful state that you’ve grown accustomed to.

Movement to Ease You:

Walking, especially in nature, gives us another wonderful vehicle for inner calm. I find this to be one of my favorite times to take in the beauty all around me and feel more connected to everything and so much fuller because of the experience.

Meditation:

Meditation is a wonderful opportunity to quiet the mind and can transport you to greater understanding and knowing within and beyond yourself. This takes practice and some effort to teach the chattering mind-child within to quiet down. As you listen to what’s not being said, you gain wisdom and peace from the inner quiet.

Too often, I’ve met adults who are uncomfortable just being alone. For them, each moment needs to be filled with others, with external noise and inner chatter.

Yet, it’s so valuable to take time to be in the quiet. These moments can give us a different spin on what’s important and teach us. Practice is necessary and patience is one of your greatest allies.
For me, these quiet moments are among my greatest teachers. The inner peace doesn’t have to disappear. Calm can be sustained. As I learn to transfer more calm into my daily living, I become more grateful. You can too!

New Year, New You

Posted by on Jan 3, 2012 in Articles | 0 comments

Do you look ahead to 2012 with optimism or dread that you won’t live up to your own expectations?

No matter how many times you’ve visualized and fantasized a new you with stellar health, love, contentment and abundance, are you exactly where you want to be right now?

Begin here to step it up and arrive at your destination:

Accept:
Accept where you are right now no matter how close or far you are from that specific goal.

Failure to follow-through often comes from the hardnosed view we have of us.

So lighten up and decide to love who and where you are right now.

Maybe you’re not where you want to be and maybe you are where you want to be. Wherever you are…
Breathe:

Breathe into the thoughts of lack that get stuck in your body and emotions and exhale them outside of you. They don’t belong inside.

Instead let self-acceptance and appreciation expand as you breathe.

Breathe self-acceptance into every pore, every cell and system of your body and let it linger there a very long, long time.
Forgive:

Forgiveness starts with us especially for the little promises we make to ourselves that can pile up.

Forgive yourself for not always reaching a goal you’ve set.

Forgive yourself for being impatient and snappy with you when things doesn’t go your way.
Forgive yourself for being irritable and snappy with other people who don’t deserve it, especially those closest to you.

Forgive yourself for any action or deed you feel warrants your forgiveness.

Forgive yourself with all of your heart and feelings.
Dream:

Goals and dreams are wonderful to have, so keep striving for new ones.

Imagination and visioning are powerful when you add your belief to make it so.

Never give up on you no matter how many mistakes or backfires you endure.

Laugh at your blunders and remember your achievements.

Accept your humanness and your divinity at the same time.

Claim your personal power.

To have a competive edge today, companies are taking on a different strategy and turning to different models rather than the traditional ones. Many of the old models of leadership, doing business and mutliplying wealth are no longer effective. We have to turn elsewhere to not just stay afloat, but stay on top.  Empowerment is the method that can generate high performance, excitement and  in-house cooperation and healthy competition occuring at the same time.

For your work environment to flourish with the buzz of creative cooperation that can lead you to unparalled success, empower the people in the organization. Watch the unbridled talent unfold that will amaze and profit you.

When we empower our staff  and teams in the organization, we tap into the most valuable resource we have -the people. They can generate ideas and enthusiasm and  apply creative solutions and innovation to existing and future challenges.

Empowering our work environment requires team cooperation with everyone working together, encouraging and learning from each other.  Mentoring and coaching take place on all levels.

Staff members are recognized and rewarded by their manager and co-workers. Leadership from the different departments is encouraged and reinforced whenever possible. This multiplies job satisfaction and increases production.

Mastering the Art of SuccessWe are continuously growing new leaders and expanding our own talent and the talent of the people within the organization. We do so without fear of losing our leader role, but with trust. We realize that when we participate and elevate their growth, we all prosper. The staff isn’t only more willing, but more capable of ushering in new ideas, new energy and new opportunities.

My new book, Mastering The Art of Success, has personal and business success gems, not only from me, but from some of the most forward thinking leaders of our time.  This blog is based on some of my ideas from Mastering The Art of Success.

Empowered Choice

Posted by on Oct 31, 2011 in Articles | 0 comments

Another day, another choice of who’s in charge. Granted, you don’t control taxes or other people’s moods or actions. And, we all know how unpredictable the weather is. Yet, there’s a lot that you can take charge over.

You do have final say in what happens in your life & business, and you can decide to live consciously and awake, and not by default.

  • With conscious awareness, you build your life and business with a sense of purpose.
  • Purpose and Intent are powerful allies to steer you forward and guide you.
  • Get clarity as to why you’ve taken on that specific activity. Keep the goals you’ve set forth constant in your mind.
  • Your choices and decisions need to be outcome based and congruent with your values.
  • Consider possible outcomes but stay focused on the outcome that you intend
  • There are times to be decisive and times to deliberate over your choices. You choose what fits the situation.
  • Give yourself enough time to decide; avoid being pressured and make sure the decision is one you can live with.

Check out the decision with your mind and your gut. Make sure it resonates with both before moving ahead and finalizing.

Speak Out Against Bullying

Posted by on Oct 9, 2011 in Anti-Bullying, Articles, Blog | Comments Off

Are you a bystander who witnessed bullying and was afraid to act? Are you a brother or sister whose relentless verbal assaults belittle a younger sibling?

Are you a parent who spews hate and prejudice, denying tolerance, acceptance and peaceful resolution? Do you malign, attack or devalue your children, your partner, spouse or even you in words and physical actions?

Maybe this isn’t you. Yet, maybe we’ve all been guilty of complacency, by not recogizing the magnitude of the problem.  Bullying is widespread and spreading like a malignant cancer.

No longer can schools, law enforcement, children, parents and the community remain in the dark and ignore the brutal consequences.  All of us must be ready and accountable to stand up, be counted and act. Now and together, we must stop the cultural erosion maligning our country and killing our children.

As parents, we can model and teach respect for differences with compassion and empathy for others. We can build up the self-esteem of our children with positive interaction. Outlaw bullying of any kind in your home and teach that it’s unacceptable!

With community and school programs, with more kids and people speaking out and enforced legal action, bullying is now beginning to receive the attention it deserves. We must become involved at every level and vow to stay involved. The burden and the solution are a responsibility we all share.

I’m proud and honored to have been a speaker at the “Listen To Our Voices” Anti-Bullying Project Launch, sponsored by JMG Productions, Inc. on September 23, in Washington, DC .

As Joelle Mireille Goode, the founder and CEO, says this was their ”…first step in becoming an agent of change in the lives of millions of young people…. and one step toward reducing bullying and youth violence in our nation.”

Take your first step or next step to combat bullying in your home, school and community. I have and I believe it can make all the difference. All of us can become agents of change.
