| According
to TV's "Good Morning America," January 24 is
the most depressing day of the winter. Why? It is on this
date that most people give up on their New Year's Resolutions.
Here are
some tips to help you persevere with your goals:
1. Create a positive outlook. Your attitude
might be hindering your success, simply by how you view life's
occurrences. Do you expect failure or do you view each event
with energy and excitement? Practice a positive attitude.
2.
Take time for play. Creative thinking happens
when you take time out from your routine and do something
fun. At play, your mind is more relaxed and open to new ideas.
3.
Mistakes are opportunities in disguise. Don't
look at your foibles as failures - consider them to be "practice
moments." Do not quickly discard or dismiss what went wrong
- instead, understand how these mistakes can help you in the
future.
4.
Try something new! To stimulate your mind to think
differently, do something you've never done. Take a different
route home, try a new recipe, or change your morning routine.
This will get your mind moving and the creative juices flowing!
5.
Exercise. Exercise is not only good for your
body, but for your mind. It improves your memory and mental
flexibility.
